Practice of QiGong
and it’s benefits are amazing!
One of the things I love to do most is teach others the practice of QiGong. Why? Not only do I understand its potential, I also know that at what ever level the practitioner is at they are benefiting from the exercises we are doing. In the case of the 24 Postures of Therapeutic QiGong, what started out for me was learning a series of technical movements soon graduated into understanding them more as internal energy movements coupled with the technical movements. When I got to this point, my experience of QiGong changed forever.
It’s simple everyone. Where Qi, or internal life-giving energy is blocked, deviated or stagnated, disease sets in. It’s a law of Chinese Medicine that where the constructive portion of the 5 elements is affected that imbalance flows from the energetic to the physical and we will face something with regards to ill health accordingly.
The next question is what causes the blockages to develop? This was an interesting question for me because it is very difficult to understand until you begin to understand it. In Chinese Medicine, there are levels of vibration that we all have an live by. With that in mind when we go through traumas, or uncomfortable experiences, or dad yells at us, or we breakup with a mate, we find ourselves presented with uncomfortable emotions that are held in organs. More on that in another post. But know that if you have ever experienced the emotion of grief, it’s in your Lungs and will be there until it is cleared. Other emotions exist in different organs. They do not exist in the head. The mind interprets what it receives but to truly clear the work is much deeper and more profound.
Clearing begins with the practice of QiGong. Practicing daily allows the body to begin to relax and as the body begins to relax it begins to release that which it holds onto. Beginning in the slow movements designed to heal each organ begins the process of clearing all the elements that cause disease the disease will not manifest. Follow in your QiGong practice each movement. Allow the breath to penetrate at an energetic level and to expand and release all that you are ready, able and willing to let go of.
